After staying in America for almost one year, learning from my church and family about the word of God, it has come the time, where I will be sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through J-house in Osaka, Japan.
Last week I had the opportunity to go to Kyoto and Kobe because J-house has initiated a ministry in both places. It was really interesting to have watched what I will be doing. We were close to the station where many young people sit there to wait for their friends or just to have a good moment. As Jesus Soldiers, we started to sing a gospel song around the place. The people started to stare at us with surprised faces and smiling, like wondering, oh what are they singing? After we finished, we began to give flyers and it is actually really hard to do it because sometimes they do not want to accept things on the street. At the end they just bow their heads, which means “No, thank you”, for they have been taught to be polite in saying no. In Colombia is different, if you start to give flyers in the street, you may see the reactions of their faces for the answer. We just can not hide our reaction, it might finish with a good smile or just like you were saying “whatever”. it takes a several time for the Japaneses to accept our invitation to J-house, but what Pastor Katsuya advised me, it is not to stop! and keep going forward even if you are going to find people who will reject and ignore the gospel. We try our best to first build a relationship with the person and when we have that, we can start ministering the person. It takes time but it will worth it.
In the Bible, there is this verse that I really like about this subject.
“Then he said to the disciples, “Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who sent me.” Luke 10:16.
We are called by Jesus Christ to proclaim his kingdom, He was rejected and we are going to be rejected as well by some people, however He promised to us if we still with him till the end, He is going to bless us for being obedient to him. Part of our ministry is to offer English, Korean, Japanese and Spanish free lessons. So we try to encourage them to study and make international friends, that is basically what we are trying to do first. After that we gather in a group and have a little time where we can get to know each other better, then we have Worship time! and finally a message. I had the chance to invite some new people to the group and they said that they spent a good time with us, that sounds wonderful for me! We are expecting them to come this week, So please pray about that!
We have Summer camp! Pray for protection for the participants and Jesus soldiers and also that they may have a good time with the Lord!
